During 1998, 11 children died after becoming trapped inside the trunk of a vehicle. In conjunction with Donnelly Electronics, we developed the Smart Release Passive Trunk Release System. Sensing heat and motion if someone becomes trapped, this device activates the trunk release mechanism automatically. We generated concept development and schematic illustrations to assist in selling this program to the automotive industry.
